Mother of Pearl Eagle Pin

WWII Era Mother of Pearl and Wire Eagle "Mother" Pin

Mother of pearl and wire "Mother" brooch. These WWII era small mother of pearl pins are called "sweetheart" brooches. This one is carved into an eagle, making it an unusual, truly American WW2 piece. Such brooches were made, or bought, by soldiers to send back to their loved ones.

Almost 2" long. The picture doesn't adequately show the eagle's head and detail, which is nicely carved. The metal is goldtone and a bit weathered over the years, but holds a nice polish. Wire C clasp pieces are attached to the wire word "Mother" This nostalgic little pin is in great condition.
